Greta Alfaro’s In Ictu Oculi

In her short-film In Ictu Oculi (In the Blink of an Eye), the London-based artist Greta Alfaro is concerned with the viewer’s existence of time. The dinner table, which undoubtedly alludes to the Last Supper, transgressively changes as vultures arrive and take it into pieces.

For more information on this, visit Alfaro’s official website here.

“The work consists of a large rear projection video monitor and a camera pointed at the viewer. The image is presented live onto the screen creating a mirror-like effect. Custom electronics process the live image of the viewers such that the “mirror” sets the viewer on fire, and also puts a virtual woman in the reflection. Sometimes this woman observes the viewer passively and at other times her actions affect the virtual space.”
